Conan Greetings Via The Floo Network

So its Christmas Eve. I'd like to say I'm up right now because I'm just THAT excited for Christmas (well I am...to an extent), but that's not why. I do hope you all-assuming people read this-have a lovely holiday though.

Anyway, its been a little cold here recently in my part of Florida. But I don't have a fire place. Don't have one either? Conan's got you covered! Head on over here to experience the warmth. (Ok not literally, I just wanted an excuse to use an Incubus lyric, but still!) There's a nice fire, a nice jingle, and randomositous Conan O'Brien for your viewing pleasure. You'll also be safe since you won't have to worry about your house burning down!

I think I'm gonna put this up tomorrow to greet all of our Christmas visitors! Or jack my bro's lighter and just pop out yelling 'Hey everybody!' and look like Conan does.

*Bonus points if this reminds you in a weird strange way of Harry Potter talking to his godfather! Double bonus points if you use it to talk to Sirius Black, or at least rig it to connect to the rest of the Floo Network!*

Merry Christmas-Boys II Men cover 'Iris'~Goo Goo Dolls

Boys II Men are making a comeback! Schkloopin around on the internetery today and came across this video of their recent visit to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Apparently they have a new album of covers. I'm a sucker for covers-especially when they're done right. With it being Boys II Men and they haven't been around in a good minute I was excited.
THEN, I saw they were covering 'Iris', and I was ready to die! That's one of my jams from back in the day! That song can come on right now and my sisters and I will break out in song with our best voices (well their best, my closest to John Rzeznik best, but still!) without even thinking about it...and I don't like to sing! I had to watch the vid.
THENNNN, I watched it, and I did die from an overload of amazingly super spectacular! Watch it, and if you do not like it you deserve to be back handed, by the 90's, TWICE, straight to the 90's where you can do some homework! And I don't want you to come back until you get straight A's in Boys II Men and Goo Goo Dolls!! Shoooot.

They still sound good even though Michael isn't with them anymore. *sniff* And Wanye tie is killin it!

And just for the heck of it, here's the original for you to enjoy:

And John Rzeznik's hair & jacket were killin it in this vid!

Play Incubus' Chuck Head Defender!

So I bought the 'new' Incubus album Monuments and Melodies a bit back (pre-ordered it as a matter of fact) and I FINALLY made my way around to downloading the available content from The Vault. Before everything in The Vault was unlocked you had to play this fun little game called Chuck Head Defender to unlock everything before it was available. I lazed around and thought about it, but never got around to it. Since everything's unlocked now I figured I'd still play anyway. I mean, HELLLOOOOO?!! Its a freaking Incubus game! WITH CHUCK! He's only the best non-member, band mascot, Brandon's dad, killerest mustachioed dude ever! 'Nuff said yo.
I totally suck at the game but like I said, Chuck game=life so it was fun anyway. I've put it up on the bloggage so you can scroll down and play right here. Or you can play here, wha'ev. You still unlock stuff but I dunno what good it'll do you. Well you can listen while you play. But still!! Have fun blasting away at Incubus asteriods in space...with Chuck's head.

Street Fighter IV 'Snuggie'

So my friend showed me this a few days ago via gizmodo
found on kotaku (and like EVERYWHERE else)

I was like 'What?! Street Fighter snuggie?!'. And I laughed a lot. Then I contemplated one! I'm not usually one to be all like 'Waaahhh, I'm cold AND lazy =( ' (usually just the lazy sometimes), and when I am actually cold, covering my feet usually helps. As far as some sort of practicality I have no reason to use, need, or want this. But I think I do!

found on Capcom Unity

The good old internetz has been driven mad by this thing. People have either been like 'Wtf are you kidding me?! LAAAAAME!' or 'OZMGZ I WANT IT! Where can I buy?'. Well, as far as I've seen there still isn't anywhere official of sorts to buy the Street Fighter IV cozy (get it right folks-cozy, not snuggie) per se. But it seems the folks over at  Capcom Unity have one to give away. If you're looking to get it simply hop over to their page, leave a comment about which Street Fighter IV character should or shouldn't be wearing it, and hope that you're the one who's randomly picked. Then prepare to Spinning Bird Kick cold across the face.

New Astro Boy Trailer!

So, yesterday a new trailer for Astro Boy came out. I'm so excited for this movie! I swear I'm like one of the only people I know that likes Astro Boy. People are kinda like 'Oh, I don't wanna watch that, its OLD! Mehh! Give me shiny and newwww!' But its Tezuka!! I liked it even without knowing this and not knowing Osamu Tezuka's and Astro Boy's significance. It makes me sad when people dismiss it 'cause its black & white or how old it is. Its such a great story regardless. Hopefully this new and improved version will garner more fans and give old school Astro Boy a boost. The animation looks amazing! This new trailer shows off a little bit more of the movie than the other one did-more robots, Dr. Tenma, more voices (Nathan Lane!!). October should be here now!

So, in case you haven't heard, Disney bought Marvel

Or is buying it rather. Whatever. This is blowin up the internet yo. I first heard about it either when someone I follow tweeted about it or on yahoo uk . Then Supercon-a comics/anime/animation/gaming convention-asked peeps how they felt about the merger. A lot of people weren't happy.
Honestly, at first I was like 'WTF?!?! Disney's buying Marvel? Why exactly? o.O' Then I was like 'NOOOOOOOO!!!!' But me and the House of Mouse have a hot/cold relationship. I mean when you think of Disney you think of kiddy shite and princesses, not superheroes. But that's exactly why they want Marvel. The Yahoo article mentions that they're looking to appeal more to and draw in boys since Disney tends to be more girl friendly. I think its more kid friendly than anything but I can't deny the abundance of princesses & girl power and the like. The article also mentions that Disney's not looking to rebrand Marvel but to build off of the good thing they've already got going. As long as they stick to that, which I don't see why they wouldn't, then I think I'm good. I do wonder a bit what's going to happen to Disney parks and the Marvel Heroes Island at Islands of Adventure (best part of that park! Until Hogwarts opens). Also, if they're planning on using their theme park prowess to build & expand with Marvel parks, might I suggest a Kingdom Hearts theme park or at least a ride or SOMETHING!!!! That my imagination can't wait for! As a matter of fact, do some KH before ya Marvel it up, k Disney?! There's already a Marvel something at a theme park. (Oh, and do something major and NOT cheesy with ninjas! Ya already got pirates, now its ninja time! Be neutral in the battle of pirates & ninjas. Pinja for life!)

Anyway, in the meantime people have been having...fun? with the news of Disney/Marvel mashup merger funtime. Comics Alliance has some links to Disney/Marvel mashup art . I'll help out one of their mentions, Craig Yoe's I.T.C.H blog just got up & running I assume with this as a first post & a reason to bust out some art from his book 'The Art of Mickey Mouse' which features some Disney superhero clashes.

In the meantime...this is going to be interesting. And maybe I need to buy stock in Marvel? Maybe Disney as well? Once they start making some Marvel money it'll probably be nice? What do you think about it all-nay or hooray?

New Favorite Piece of the Internet: Anywhere Pogo Is!

Pogo tracks & videos are what you need in your life! This guy uses clips from movies, adds a little extra fun stuff, and its exciting and fun! The music has an ambient/chill sound and are awesome on their own but paired with the visual of spliced scenes from the movie they're amazing. There's a sense of beauty and magic while you're listening and watching. Its fun to see the timing of events, movements, beats, and sounds in their synchronicities. Granted it is a bit repetitive its not a repetition that you mind, I actually forgot about it. I became entranced!! I watched the Hook one 3 times in a row! Then I proceeded to follow and click on every link that lead to him and I had an account on xD Someone said he was reminiscent of Moby and I'll add Susumu Hirasawa to the mix 'cause that's what I thought of off rip.
Its like another way to experience your childhood! He's done movies such as Alice in Wonderland, Hook, Harry Potter, and Mary Poppins. Once you listen-and watch the vids especially-your childhood will thank you.

And now I introduce to you a few of my faves for your enjoyment

Alice seems to be the most popular and the one that started it all

This one started it all for me and is the most exciting & magical in my opinion!

There's a Harry Potter one so of course I had to add it! I love that it uses the spell Ron attempted to turn Scabbers yellow. AND it has the Richard Harris Dumbledore xD

Mary Poppins! This makes the children seem sweeter and Mary even MORE fun!

This one makes me wish the candy store in the mall was just as bangin! I'd be there everyday

This vid's a little different than the others in that it doesn't use a movie, but Vader's got some pretty pimp dance moves. You know you gon' try 'em next time you in the club!

My Name Is ___, and I'm a Lexical Neophiliac

So, I love words to ridiculousness! I know I'm supposed to be catching you up on my adventures at AFO and my Incubus concert (and I will, but still), but in my incessant internetery haunting I found a lovely and fun article about word attraction and why, and I was really excited! Apparently there was one written a week prior about word aversion which I will have to check out as well just for the sake of knowing what types of words people don't like and why. Probably for negative connotations and the like. Though I beg to differ with the author about syphilis-I do find it fun to say though I would never want to get it.
Anyway, I enjoyed the article because it was nice and fun to gain insight into what types of words people like. Its almost like a guilty pleasure of sorts (haha, imagine word porn!). It was also great to see some words that other people are making up and peddling to...whoever reads or hears them and is fascinated by them, such as myself. I love discovering and making up new words-whether they're actually real or not. Once I've made it up its just as real as anything in the dictionary. Hey, muggle made it in there-prior to JK Rowling and Harry Potter it didn't exist! Shakespeare made up words too that are still in the English language to this day!!
Also, as much as it kinda pains me, I think defriend was up for inclusion in the dictionary (I read it somewhere but I don't remember exactly where soo, don't quote me on that? I could look it, but I'm not). So, you never know!

For your entertainment here are a few of my favorite words. In general I like big words or those that are hard to pronounce or that only a dictionary could love. I also have a list longer than I can remember so here's whatever pops in my head:

*Czechoslovakia-my 5th grade class hated me for this when we made our own spelling lists
*tovarish-I'm not even sure if that's the right way to spell it, which makes me sad, but I heard it on Trinity Blood and liked it
*bicicleta
*randomosity
*majide
*entity
*shite
*nepenthe
*codswallop
*dodecahedron
*cacophony
*schizophrenia
*iliopsoas
*idiosyncratic
*somnambulance
*pseudo
*superfluous
*labyrinth
*onomatopoeia
*doppelganger
*Thonotosassa

I'm gonna come out of my trance and stop now =D
But here's a few more lists I came across

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince...in 15 minutes

I know this movie's been out for a few weeks now (and I know I've an AFO post that is past due...it will come). I like Harry Potter a lot, so I was super excited, even though I did have a few reservations about it. I mean, I really liked Order of the Phoenix...the book. I knew something was gonna be wrong when I saw promotional stuff where Harry had less hair when his hair is TOTALLY messy and unruly (hello?!). Then I saw the movie and was a bit disappointed-especially the showdown at the Ministry of Magic and when Sirius died! (Silence?! Wtf, are you kidding me?! And what was that 'falling through the curtain' junk?!?) But I digress. Anyway, David Yates did that one and he did this one as well. Needless to say...I was once again DISAPPOINTED, probably worse than before. Maybe it'll grow on me like OOtP did (eventually).
Anyway, I was going along, lamenting the atrocity, when one of my other HP friends put Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in 15 minutes in my life! OMG so freaking hilarious! This is HBP done justice and given its due! I wish they could remake the movie right now and use that as the script. Or maybe a skecth group can use this for an abridged version. SOMEBODY please do SOMETHING with it lol! This came from the Movies in Fifteen Minutes community on livejournal. The chick who posted this asked peeps not to copy it so...read it and enjoy, and check out some of the other stuff if you'd like?

I've a bunch of favorite parts, but my favorite-the 'Draco Malfoy, Bringing Sexy Back Since: Now' section! I'm not even really a huge Draco Malfoy fan, but I gotta admit that everything there is true and its enough to make me take a second look at that GQMF (best comment on that post!)

Thumbs up bitches!

Favorite Piece of the Internet: Crank Dat Harry Potter

I will warn you now, I can be fickle about my favorite piece of the internet. I can be easily amused and amazed sometimes so who knows how soon it will or won't change. Now I present to you my current favorite piece *flourish*-Crank Dat Harry Potter

This was too, too funny to me! I like corny stuff like this. Two geektastics present Harry Potter meets Soulja Boy! My cousin told me about this yesterday, and even though I was getting ready to go to sleep for work I was gonna get out of bed for this yo. I watched it like 5 times and cracked up laughing! If they played this in the club I'd totally dance and go more often-it'd make things more interesting lol

Thumbs up bitches!

Sam Raimi's directing World of Warcraft Movie!!

I know I'm like a day or two late but...freakin Sam Raimi is directing the World of Warcraft movie! I knew there were talks about it but hadn't been up on my WoW movie tip. Then I see this today whilst scoopin around on the internets! I'm excited for various reasons.

1) Its freakin Sam Raimi. Had I seen this and not gone to Supercon last month this would not be as significant. But I did! Ted Raimi was there (and so was Bruce Campbell; also lucky for me-my friend that I went with has seen a lot of zombie movies). I'm a total geek in the learning sense so I took in a lot while I was there. Needless to say I learned that Ted & Sam were brothers. So now I find myself tuning in a bit more when either Raimi bro is mentioned. Aside from that though, Spiderman's one of my favorite superheroes and I loved the first Spiderman movie especially(and soundtrack), though I do need to get around to watching the other 2-especially since 4 is being worked on.
2) Its World of freakin Warcraft! I played for like 2 seconds about 2 years ago-its hard when you have to fight your bro and his friends and a busy work schedule. Oh and when your bro keeps doin shite to get his account banned. I do see why its so popular that its taking over everybody in the world and they mama. Its an amazing and fun game and it has such a great story and history (Yes, I read the history stuff in the strategy guide. And?!).

That was a lot of reasons lol

Anyway, at least Sam Raimi is a great director. I trust that he won't mess it up and that Blizzard made a smart move. I'm not a huge gamer or watcher of video game movies but, I like to know things. I know enough to be grateful that its not Uwe Boll, I (unfortunately) saw BloodRayne. I can't wait to see more developments on this and for 2010 to get here!

Crazy Medicine

So last week (and hovering slightly into this week) I was down with some sickness. I don't usually get sick but, meh. Whenever I do I don't like it. I think mostly 'cause I don't like medicine. I just don't like the way extra chems can make you feel and junk. *shivers*
Anyway, my throat started to get all coughy and funky and weird. But funkier and weirder than usual. I thought at first it was a sore throat and tried my usual route of loading up on vitamin C (big jug of orange juice babaaay!), then I added some cough drops (mountain berry w/wildflower honey centers! @.@). This is usually as far as I have to go as far as 'medicine' for a sore throat. Every once in a while I have to break down and give in to some cough meds or chloraseptic spray 'cause I'm paranoid about still being sick but not enough to give a doc a say yet. Well I was fast approaching a week of throat sickness, and even though I lost my voice (we suspected laryngitis but...) kinda and sounded funnily kick ass saying some things ('Finish him!', 'Fatality!', 'Avada Kedavra!', singing Michael Jackson and the 'aah aah aah' parts on 'Birthday Sex') I had to get something to get better.
We went to the store and I halfway zombie hacked my way over to the medicine. (OHhh-I tried some hot tea with honey...and peach vodka ;-D -it was good and restored my vox for like 2 seconds, but still) I wanted something to soothe my throat and make the coughing stop. I was looking for TheraFlu-someone told me there was a berry flavored one that tasted better than the apple/cinnamon? and lemon kinds. We get on the aisle and *daahnt*-no TheraFlu. Or at least not the kind I wanted. No, they had the creepy warming kind! I hate that stuff! Then there was daytime and nighttime ones. And then I looked at the Tylenol hoping to find something more sane but nooooo-this one had a cooling sensation! What the...freaking WHY??!?! Why?! Fucking why?! Does medicine have to heat up or cool down just to work? I just wanted something to make me get better. I didn't want anything that freakin explodes or goes through the rainbow in color changes or transforms into fireworks or takes you back in time or some shit! Medicine should not do that! Especially get warm! Unfortunately I had to settle for the freaky warmth of the TheraFlu. I already knew how it worked and felt even though I didn't like it so I rathered that than the mystery of the cooling Tylenol. I figured either way it felt like drinking instant heartburn so stick to what I know. I did not choose quietly though! I bet the people in the pharmacy thought maybe I needed meds for another reason if they overheard my bitchfest at the cough medicine!

Microphone Testing 1, 2

*taps the mike* Mic check-check one, one, one, one, mic check mic check. Is this thing on? Yeah? It is?! Can yu guys hear me out there? Hey yo, turn my mic up. chiki chiri check it.
Especially since you can't hear me, muhaha!

So, finally I'm postin on this thing. I took so long trying to come up with an introductory post, and now I'm posting really about nothing. Hooray! Puaahh! Well, I also had complications like my computer fuckin up 'cause my bro kinda janked it up, no internet, getting net back then it not working, work, and other distractions of internetery. But I'm here-let us all rejoice xD
Get ready, get ready! Like the title says-quirky shite, random shite, geektastic shite, and other weirdness/funness/shite to my liking (ok, I know it doesn't say that last part, but still). And parentheses. Which fall into 'shite to my liking'. If you like it-great! If you don't-oh well! I know my facebook friends' feed might like it 'cause now I'll post my interesting finds of interest to maybe no one other than me here instead. Woo! More room for quiz results-watch out!

Thumbs up bitches!
