Anime Boy Swag

So apparently its old news that Soulja Boy likes anime. He likes it so much that he made a song about it, and it goes a little something like this:

...
.....

 ROFLMAO!!!!! *dies-Death Noted*

I actually came across this while looking for stuff for something else I'm gonna write about. I was like 'Huh? Soulja Boy...anime?'. Then I watched it, and this shite was funny as hell! Yeah, its on the lame side, but when it comes to geektastic I don't mind cheesy. Its got that funny kind of lame to it. Favorite lines-'And I'm hot in that kitchen cookin up that anime, anyway, eat the cake, like yo name Anna Mae', 'Anime drop top look like Inuyasha', and 'Hoes on my dick, Cowboy Bebop when I'm blastin'. Plus the mention of being anime-d up in the club! I hate clubs, but I would TOTALLY go anime-d up to the club! Anime girl swag yo, this that new shit. He even has a Death Note mixtape. A Death Note...mixtape!! Even used themes from the series for beats to rap over. Too bad its more lame-I couldn't bring myself to post it or watch/listen to more vids than I did. 2 was 2 too many. Check out youtube if you really wanna know?
I'm not knockin Soulja Boy's enthusiasm for anime and authenticity of fandom. As an anime fan myself I welcome pretty much any and all other fans, I don't care. Who am I to say what people can and can't like it? I can't wait to see him at a con or something. But Soulja Boy, if you're gonna rap about anime, you gotta step yo game up! You could've at least gave us Crank Dat Anime, shoot.

Brandon Boyd and The Wild Trapeze

I happened upon an ad yesterday about a new solo album by the ever so awesome Brandon Boyd. I usually ignore ads but sometimes curiosity gets the better of me (damn you curiosity and effective marketing!). Needless to say this was one of those times curiosity won. But alas, the cat was not killed!! The cat was delighted!

I was taken to the official site for Brandon's album The Wild Trapeze and was greeted with wonderful options. A further click to the Incubus site and I was welcomed with the video for the single 'Runaway Train'. I've watched it about 6 or 7 times, 4 of those being back to back! Almost no surprise considering I have listened to some Incubus songs individually for hours on end. Seems that even just Brandon alone has the same effect.

There's been little fanfare over the album's release. I believe it came out last week and the video for 'Runaway Train' only just came out a couple weeks before that. Glad to know that I'm not too far behind! Here's what Brandon had to say about his little release on his official Facebook page, which also is pretty new. I definitely swayed, swooned, and reflected at least from just this one single. I'm excited to get the album and do more of the same. I'm looking forward to enjoying this just as much as I've enjoyed his books. Brandon played just about every instrument on the album and even helped direct the 'Runaway Train' video. The cd is limited edition and is also available digitally exclusively through iTunes.

In other exciting Incubus news (I know its exciting to me), it seems my boys are going back to the studio! The new album has a general 2011 release for now. I can't believe its been almost 5 years since Light Grenades came out! Maybe 'cause I had Monuments and Melodies and its tour to hold me over. Now I can add The Wild Trapeze to that.
