Brandon Boyd and The Wild Trapeze

I happened upon an ad yesterday about a new solo album by the ever so awesome Brandon Boyd. I usually ignore ads but sometimes curiosity gets the better of me (damn you curiosity and effective marketing!). Needless to say this was one of those times curiosity won. But alas, the cat was not killed!! The cat was delighted!

I was taken to the official site for Brandon's album The Wild Trapeze and was greeted with wonderful options. A further click to the Incubus site and I was welcomed with the video for the single 'Runaway Train'. I've watched it about 6 or 7 times, 4 of those being back to back! Almost no surprise considering I have listened to some Incubus songs individually for hours on end. Seems that even just Brandon alone has the same effect.

There's been little fanfare over the album's release. I believe it came out last week and the video for 'Runaway Train' only just came out a couple weeks before that. Glad to know that I'm not too far behind! Here's what Brandon had to say about his little release on his official Facebook page, which also is pretty new. I definitely swayed, swooned, and reflected at least from just this one single. I'm excited to get the album and do more of the same. I'm looking forward to enjoying this just as much as I've enjoyed his books. Brandon played just about every instrument on the album and even helped direct the 'Runaway Train' video. The cd is limited edition and is also available digitally exclusively through iTunes.

In other exciting Incubus news (I know its exciting to me), it seems my boys are going back to the studio! The new album has a general 2011 release for now. I can't believe its been almost 5 years since Light Grenades came out! Maybe 'cause I had Monuments and Melodies and its tour to hold me over. Now I can add The Wild Trapeze to that.
