Brandon Boyd and The Wild Trapeze

I happened upon an ad yesterday about a new solo album by the ever so awesome Brandon Boyd. I usually ignore ads but sometimes curiosity gets the better of me (damn you curiosity and effective marketing!). Needless to say this was one of those times curiosity won. But alas, the cat was not killed!! The cat was delighted!

I was taken to the official site for Brandon's album The Wild Trapeze and was greeted with wonderful options. A further click to the Incubus site and I was welcomed with the video for the single 'Runaway Train'. I've watched it about 6 or 7 times, 4 of those being back to back! Almost no surprise considering I have listened to some Incubus songs individually for hours on end. Seems that even just Brandon alone has the same effect.

There's been little fanfare over the album's release. I believe it came out last week and the video for 'Runaway Train' only just came out a couple weeks before that. Glad to know that I'm not too far behind! Here's what Brandon had to say about his little release on his official Facebook page, which also is pretty new. I definitely swayed, swooned, and reflected at least from just this one single. I'm excited to get the album and do more of the same. I'm looking forward to enjoying this just as much as I've enjoyed his books. Brandon played just about every instrument on the album and even helped direct the 'Runaway Train' video. The cd is limited edition and is also available digitally exclusively through iTunes.

In other exciting Incubus news (I know its exciting to me), it seems my boys are going back to the studio! The new album has a general 2011 release for now. I can't believe its been almost 5 years since Light Grenades came out! Maybe 'cause I had Monuments and Melodies and its tour to hold me over. Now I can add The Wild Trapeze to that.

Play Incubus' Chuck Head Defender!

So I bought the 'new' Incubus album Monuments and Melodies a bit back (pre-ordered it as a matter of fact) and I FINALLY made my way around to downloading the available content from The Vault. Before everything in The Vault was unlocked you had to play this fun little game called Chuck Head Defender to unlock everything before it was available. I lazed around and thought about it, but never got around to it. Since everything's unlocked now I figured I'd still play anyway. I mean, HELLLOOOOO?!! Its a freaking Incubus game! WITH CHUCK! He's only the best non-member, band mascot, Brandon's dad, killerest mustachioed dude ever! 'Nuff said yo.
I totally suck at the game but like I said, Chuck game=life so it was fun anyway. I've put it up on the bloggage so you can scroll down and play right here. Or you can play here, wha'ev. You still unlock stuff but I dunno what good it'll do you. Well you can listen while you play. But still!! Have fun blasting away at Incubus asteriods in space...with Chuck's head.

New Favorite Piece of the Internet: Anywhere Pogo Is!

Pogo tracks & videos are what you need in your life! This guy uses clips from movies, adds a little extra fun stuff, and its exciting and fun! The music has an ambient/chill sound and are awesome on their own but paired with the visual of spliced scenes from the movie they're amazing. There's a sense of beauty and magic while you're listening and watching. Its fun to see the timing of events, movements, beats, and sounds in their synchronicities. Granted it is a bit repetitive its not a repetition that you mind, I actually forgot about it. I became entranced!! I watched the Hook one 3 times in a row! Then I proceeded to follow and click on every link that lead to him and I had an account on xD Someone said he was reminiscent of Moby and I'll add Susumu Hirasawa to the mix 'cause that's what I thought of off rip.
Its like another way to experience your childhood! He's done movies such as Alice in Wonderland, Hook, Harry Potter, and Mary Poppins. Once you listen-and watch the vids especially-your childhood will thank you.

And now I introduce to you a few of my faves for your enjoyment

Alice seems to be the most popular and the one that started it all

This one started it all for me and is the most exciting & magical in my opinion!

There's a Harry Potter one so of course I had to add it! I love that it uses the spell Ron attempted to turn Scabbers yellow. AND it has the Richard Harris Dumbledore xD

Mary Poppins! This makes the children seem sweeter and Mary even MORE fun!

This one makes me wish the candy store in the mall was just as bangin! I'd be there everyday

This vid's a little different than the others in that it doesn't use a movie, but Vader's got some pretty pimp dance moves. You know you gon' try 'em next time you in the club!

Favorite Piece of the Internet: Crank Dat Harry Potter

I will warn you now, I can be fickle about my favorite piece of the internet. I can be easily amused and amazed sometimes so who knows how soon it will or won't change. Now I present to you my current favorite piece *flourish*-Crank Dat Harry Potter

This was too, too funny to me! I like corny stuff like this. Two geektastics present Harry Potter meets Soulja Boy! My cousin told me about this yesterday, and even though I was getting ready to go to sleep for work I was gonna get out of bed for this yo. I watched it like 5 times and cracked up laughing! If they played this in the club I'd totally dance and go more often-it'd make things more interesting lol

Thumbs up bitches!
