So apparently its old news that Soulja Boy likes anime. He likes it so much that he made a song about it, and it goes a little something like this:
...
.....
ROFLMAO!!!!! *dies-Death Noted*
I actually came across this while looking for stuff for something else I'm gonna write about. I was like 'Huh? Soulja Boy...anime?'. Then I watched it, and this shite was funny as hell! Yeah, its on the lame side, but when it comes to geektastic I don't mind cheesy. Its got that funny kind of lame to it. Favorite lines-'And I'm hot in that kitchen cookin up that anime, anyway, eat the cake, like yo name Anna Mae', 'Anime drop top look like Inuyasha', and 'Hoes on my dick, Cowboy Bebop when I'm blastin'. Plus the mention of being anime-d up in the club! I hate clubs, but I would TOTALLY go anime-d up to the club! Anime girl swag yo, this that new shit. He even has a Death Note mixtape. A Death Note...mixtape!! Even used themes from the series for beats to rap over. Too bad its more lame-I couldn't bring myself to post it or watch/listen to more vids than I did. 2 was 2 too many. Check out youtube if you really wanna know?
I'm not knockin Soulja Boy's enthusiasm for anime and authenticity of fandom. As an anime fan myself I welcome pretty much any and all other fans, I don't care. Who am I to say what people can and can't like it? I can't wait to see him at a con or something. But Soulja Boy, if you're gonna rap about anime, you gotta step yo game up! You could've at least gave us Crank Dat Anime, shoot.

Brandon Boyd and The Wild Trapeze
I happened upon an ad yesterday about a new solo album by the ever so awesome Brandon Boyd. I usually ignore ads but sometimes curiosity gets the better of me (damn you curiosity and effective marketing!). Needless to say this was one of those times curiosity won. But alas, the cat was not killed!! The cat was delighted!
I was taken to the official site for Brandon's album The Wild Trapeze and was greeted with wonderful options. A further click to the Incubus site and I was welcomed with the video for the single 'Runaway Train'. I've watched it about 6 or 7 times, 4 of those being back to back! Almost no surprise considering I have listened to some Incubus songs individually for hours on end. Seems that even just Brandon alone has the same effect.
There's been little fanfare over the album's release. I believe it came out last week and the video for 'Runaway Train' only just came out a couple weeks before that. Glad to know that I'm not too far behind! Here's what Brandon had to say about his little release on his official Facebook page, which also is pretty new. I definitely swayed, swooned, and reflected at least from just this one single. I'm excited to get the album and do more of the same. I'm looking forward to enjoying this just as much as I've enjoyed his books. Brandon played just about every instrument on the album and even helped direct the 'Runaway Train' video. The cd is limited edition and is also available digitally exclusively through iTunes.
In other exciting Incubus news (I know its exciting to me), it seems my boys are going back to the studio! The new album has a general 2011 release for now. I can't believe its been almost 5 years since Light Grenades came out! Maybe 'cause I had Monuments and Melodies and its tour to hold me over. Now I can add The Wild Trapeze to that.

Hairuku For Youruku
Woop, pow, surprise! Well hello there! Its been a while, hasn't it?
Anyway, in honor of National Poetry Month I think its hairuku time! 'What is a hairuku?' you ask. Its a haiku/poem/slam poetry/freestyle hybrid of sorts. There's no particular meter or rhyme scheme it has to follow. It can make sense, have varying degrees of depth, or it can be totally absurd. Regardless its all about fun! A great excuse to feel like you have the ability to wax poetic. As a matter of fact that's how it came about. One night The Wil! over at AIR & G had an incredible urge to spit hot fiyah beatnik style while wearing her lil beret. I of course didn't help by serving as her introduction, clearing my throat and saying 'hairuku' sharply and japaneseque with a bow. We decided they should all end with the line 'All is rosy and grey' (though we do differ on our spellings of 'rosy' and 'grey', not that that has any relevance). I won't promise that there will be more of these this month in particular. I mean we'll see and all. This definitely won't be the only one on here though! More will follow eventually.
Onward to the hairuku! This one was inspired by some wrapping paper I found while helping my sister shop for a gift for a wedding shower. It had nice words pertaining to love and marriage written on it. As a matter of fact it was one of my favorites when I used to work at a card shop and we had it in store. My sister asked me what it said and I summed it up terribly...'Love is something, circle like a ring, drop it like its hot'. Now it goes a little something like this:
*clears throat*
Hairuku! *bows*
Love is a stranger
Love is a fool
Love is a verb, love is a verb
Love is...something
Circle like a ring
Drop it like its hot
All is rosy and grey
Now go ahead and sip on some of that while you make like a mirror and reflect *winks*

Conan Greetings Via The Floo Network
So its Christmas Eve. I'd like to say I'm up right now because I'm just THAT excited for Christmas (well I am...to an extent), but that's not why. I do hope you all-assuming people read this-have a lovely holiday though.
Anyway, its been a little cold here recently in my part of Florida. But I don't have a fire place. Don't have one either? Conan's got you covered! Head on over here to experience the warmth. (Ok not literally, I just wanted an excuse to use an Incubus lyric, but still!) There's a nice fire, a nice jingle, and randomositous Conan O'Brien for your viewing pleasure. You'll also be safe since you won't have to worry about your house burning down!
I think I'm gonna put this up tomorrow to greet all of our Christmas visitors! Or jack my bro's lighter and just pop out yelling 'Hey everybody!' and look like Conan does.
*Bonus points if this reminds you in a weird strange way of Harry Potter talking to his godfather! Double bonus points if you use it to talk to Sirius Black, or at least rig it to connect to the rest of the Floo Network!*

Merry Christmas-Boys II Men cover 'Iris'~Goo Goo Dolls
Boys II Men are making a comeback! Schkloopin around on the internetery today and came across this video of their recent visit to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Apparently they have a new album of covers. I'm a sucker for covers-especially when they're done right. With it being Boys II Men and they haven't been around in a good minute I was excited.
THEN, I saw they were covering 'Iris', and I was ready to die! That's one of my jams from back in the day! That song can come on right now and my sisters and I will break out in song with our best voices (well their best, my closest to John Rzeznik best, but still!) without even thinking about it...and I don't like to sing! I had to watch the vid.
THENNNN, I watched it, and I did die from an overload of amazingly super spectacular! Watch it, and if you do not like it you deserve to be back handed, by the 90's, TWICE, straight to the 90's where you can do some homework! And I don't want you to come back until you get straight A's in Boys II Men and Goo Goo Dolls!! Shoooot.
They still sound good even though Michael isn't with them anymore. *sniff* And Wanye tie is killin it!
And just for the heck of it, here's the original for you to enjoy:
And John Rzeznik's hair & jacket were killin it in this vid!

Play Incubus' Chuck Head Defender!
So I bought the 'new' Incubus album Monuments and Melodies a bit back (pre-ordered it as a matter of fact) and I FINALLY made my way around to downloading the available content from The Vault. Before everything in The Vault was unlocked you had to play this fun little game called Chuck Head Defender to unlock everything before it was available. I lazed around and thought about it, but never got around to it. Since everything's unlocked now I figured I'd still play anyway. I mean, HELLLOOOOO?!! Its a freaking Incubus game! WITH CHUCK! He's only the best non-member, band mascot, Brandon's dad, killerest mustachioed dude ever! 'Nuff said yo.
I totally suck at the game but like I said, Chuck game=life so it was fun anyway. I've put it up on the bloggage so you can scroll down and play right here. Or you can play here, wha'ev. You still unlock stuff but I dunno what good it'll do you. Well you can listen while you play. But still!! Have fun blasting away at Incubus asteriods in space...with Chuck's head.

Street Fighter IV 'Snuggie'
found on kotaku (and like EVERYWHERE else)
I was like 'What?! Street Fighter snuggie?!'. And I laughed a lot. Then I contemplated one! I'm not usually one to be all like 'Waaahhh, I'm cold AND lazy =( ' (usually just the lazy sometimes), and when I am actually cold, covering my feet usually helps. As far as some sort of practicality I have no reason to use, need, or want this. But I think I do!
